I used to love Garfield comics, now I love this

For those of you who haven’t heard of this yet, you have to check this website out.  Its called Garfield Minus Garfield, and is exactly what you think it is.  To quote the website developer, “Garfield Minus Garfield is a site dedicated to removing Garfield from the Garfield comic strips in order to reveal the existential angst of a certain young Mr. Jon Arbuckle. It is a journey deep into the mind of an isolated young every man as he fights a losing battle against loneliness and depression in a quiet American suburb.”

I am sure there is some deep philosophical reason behind the removal of America’s beloved orange feline, but for me its just 3-10 panes of pure comedic genius.  I love that this was so popular that the guy has published his own books on the strip.  I hope Jim Davis is getting a cut of the royalties…

Oh, and if you were wondering where I found this gem (and who’s winning the July battle of the gadgets, you can chalk this up as a win for the good guys), its thanks to the always-creative developer community over at palm.
