Yeah, but do they offer a “Maroon and Gold” Dog” or “El Perro Caliente”?

Yes, this is yet ANOTHER hot dog post.  My co-worker, Carey just informed me that Minneapolis is home to a world-famous Hot Dog joint called The Wienery.  Apparently it was featured on Food Network’s “”Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives“” this past weekend and got some great reviews (along with Bryant Lake Bowl).  I’m guessing some of you more veteran Hot Dog fans out there have already been to The Wienery, but this fanatic had not heard of it yet.

Now, add this newfound restaurant to my already growing list of new eateries in Minneapolis (like Five Guys, Burger Jones, Mt. Fuji Sushi, to name a few) … and this author’s impression of Minnesota food has definitely stepped it up as of late!  All of a sudden, being out of town for 3 nights of the week is starting to look grim.  I need to find a way to fit more good food into my weekend.  Of course, this does not bode well for my “$10 a day budget” for the month of may, but sometimes you have to sacrifice lunch in order to have a good hot dog for dinner.

Anyone want to take a trip to the West Bank and give The Wienery a try this weekend?
